Caterpillars

(6 weeks – 18 months)

Caterpillars make their own schedules! Our daily schedules are used as a guide for the day but are responsive to individual children’s needs. Developmental activities happen throughout the day as children become interested.

Infants eating table food follow the program’s snack and meal schedule, while younger infants eat at appropriate intervals based on their indicators to staff that they are hungry. During feeding times, bottle-fed infants are either held or positioned sitting up; however, bottle propping is forbidden. Bottles and food must be labelled with the infant’s first and last name.Breastfeeding is supported by providing areas for nursing mothers to feed their babies. Expressed milk can also be sent from home if frozen or kept cold during transit. Bottles or milk storage bags must be labelled with the child’s first and last name and the date the milk was expressed.

Routines, such as diapering and napping, occur throughout the day to meet each child’s unique schedule. During naps, infants are placed on their backs in CPCS and ASTM approved cribs without blankets, toys or bumpers.

Ladybugs

(1 year – 2 years)

The Ladybug classroom has a wide assortment of equipment and materials available to accommodate and challenge each rapidly growing toddler at every level of their development. In this classroom, a flexible schedule is implemented and the children participate in a variety of planned large and small group activities that are designed to encourage the development of their gross and fine motor skills, speaking and listening skills, and early literacy skills.

Toilet training begins when the child shows signs of physical control and/or awareness of bodily functions and an interest or curiosity in the process. Once signs are shown, MNCH will work with parents/guardians to begin and maintain toilet training.

Grasshoppers

(3 years – 4 years)

Grasshoppers will be able to start to investigate and build enthusiasm for learning in areas that include science, art, nutrition, music, basic letter and number recognition, identifying shapes and patterns, and physical education. The Grasshopper classroom provides a safe, stimulating environment designed to accommodate this age of curiosity.

MNCH also emphasizes social, emotional, and cognitive development. Teachers will encourage your child to develop self-confidence, social skills and independence. As grasshoppers grow, teachers will praise appropriate behavior and set consistent limits while encouraging children to express themselves verbally, enhancing their language skills.

Before/After School

(5 years – 14 years)

MyNana’s Clubhouse understands that school and work schedules are not always cohesive. In order to make sure that your children are getting to and from school on-time safely, MNCH offers before and after school service.

School-age children can be brought to the building where they will be fed breakfast and prepared for the arrival of their county bus. Once the school day is completed, the children may ride the bus back to MNCH to have a snack and participate in our POWER Afterschool and Summer Enrichment (PASE) program which offers student academic and recreational enrichment activities.
